David is most passionate about anticipating problems and providing solutions. In 2017 he founded his first engineering company and built a successful consulting engineering firm supporting the Washington DC market. And in 2026 joined forces with his new partners in the Seattle area to form SGI Structural. David continues to work directly with his clients as a Principal at SGI; utilizing a larger team and a deeper reservoir of experience, he continues to find solutions and steward his client's projects across the finish line from SGI's Baltimore office.
David provides leadership by maintaining direct involvement in planning, design, and production of projects. His dedication to providing effective and efficient services to his clients has resulted in long-term client relationships. David has successfully designed a wide range of complex commercial, residential and hospitality building projects with wood, steel, masonry, and concrete.
David has nearly two decades of experience evaluating structural failures, existing conditions, and providing sophisticated engineering solutions. He has served on DC's Technical Advisory Committee to help influence the adoption and modification of local Building Codes. David takes a hands-on approach for his design projects. He likes to work closely with builders and owners to find cost effective solutions to otherwise complicated obstacles. From initial start-up through final construction, David helps move your project forward.
