Encore Belltown, located in the heart of Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood, features floor-to-ceiling windows and Juliet balconies that provide abundant natural light. This new construction includes 60 urban-style studio and one-bedroom apartments, along with commercial space at street level. Expansive views on all sides and close proximity to the downtown business district make this property well suited for Seattleites who embrace efficient urban living.
SGI Structural worked closely with the design and construction teams to bring the building’s distinctive triangular form to life. The engineering team utilized three-dimensional Building Information Modeling (BIM) and finite-element analysis to visualize and resolve the challenges associated with the project’s unique footprint. The upper five levels are framed using sustainable, renewable engineered wood products, while the lower levels consist of a concrete podium with post-tensioned concrete floors — optimizing structural performance while reducing material costs and the project’s overall carbon footprint.
